League | ATPAM Diversity Initiative

ATPAM is hugely proud to announce its participation in the newly underway League | ATPAM Diversity Initiative, a program jointly put forth by both organizations to increase awareness of employment possibilities as theatre managers to students—and others—from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Last week, three touring productions: Billy Elliot in West Palm Beach, Les Miserables in Sarasota and Memphis in Tempe kicked off the initiative by pairing the Company Managers of those productions with interns selected by the presenters in those cities. Other touring productions are scheduled to participate later this season and next.

A standing ovation, please, for ATPAM members Bill Ferry, Joel Herbst and Erik Birkeland for volunteering their time to work with these interns to show them the demanding but exhilarating job of managing a Broadway Musical on the road.

Thanks also to The Broadway League for their enthusiasm in developing this initiative.

For a fabulous glimpse into this exciting program at work please check out the following brief video.
