It is with great sorrow that ATPAM announces the passing of Gold Card Manager Joseph Z. Nederlander. Mr. Nederlander, who came into membership in January of 1956, passed away on May 1, 2021, at the age of 93.
Mr. Nederlander was considered a titan in the Detroit theatre community. After the Nederlander family acquired the Fisher Theatre, Joseph was instrumental in the theatre becoming known as an important regional stop for Broadway-bound productions and later Broadway tours. According to his friends, he loved being backstage and spent many hours with the crew, actors, musicians, and box office staffs. He was well known for his generosity and a flair for sharing an entertaining story.
