Have You Filled Out the Census? Take a few minutes to do something powerful and make your voice heard – you’ll be shaping the future.
What Is Census 2020? The Census is a nationwide survey, mandated by the Constitution and taken every ten years. It counts every person living in all 50 states, District of Columbia and the US territories.
Why Do It? The data gathered impacts our lives in large and small ways. For example, the Census data determines how federal funds is allocated among the states, including funding for hospitals, fire departments, schools, and infrastructure (like grants for subways, buses and highway planning/roads/bridges) as well as healthcare programs and arts partnership agreements, to name a few. The data is also used to determine how many seats each state will have in the House of Representatives and to draw congressional and state legislative districts.
How Do I Do It? It’s easy, and all the information is confidential. You can do it by phone (1-844-330-2020) or online (https://2020census.gov/ ). If you haven’t already taken the time to complete the Census, you will receive a paper form which you can fill out and drop in the mail.
By completing the Census 2020 survey you are helping to shape the future over the next ten years. Encourage your family and friends to take the survey, too. Everyone counts!
