In Memoriam: Berenice Weiler

It is with sadness ATPAM announces the passing on April 28 of former ATPAM Secretary-Treasurer Berenice Weiler of New York City.  Sister Weiler was 88 years old and had been a member of ATPAM since 1966.  She served two terms as ST of the union from 1991 to 1997, during which time ATPAM became affiliated with the IATSE.  Previous other positions held in the industry were:  Managing Producer of the American Shakespeare Festival Theater (Stratford, CT) followed by Administrative Director at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.  With fellow ATPAM Member Marilyn S. Miller she formed the management concern Weiler/Miller in 1978.  Among the productions they managed were the Broadway musicals Nine (original), Stardust, Wind In The Willows, Meet Me In St. Louis and A Broadway Musical.  Sister Weiler was a founding member of The League of Professional Theater Women and served as Executive Director of the University/Resident Theater Association and as President of the National Theater Conference. 

Services will be private.  Donations in Berenice’s name may be made to The Actors Fund.
