In Memoriam: Ben Morse

It with sadness that ATPAM announces the death on December 6, 2016 of Gold Card Press Agent Bernard “Ben” Morse in Sarasota, Florida. Brother Morse was 92-years-old and had been a member of ATPAM since 1969.

Bed led a varied career in the theater and worked at everything from performing to stage managing to ultimately being a Press Agent.


Among the Broadway productions Ben represented were: Me and My Girl, A Walk in the Woods, Born Yesterday (with Ed Asner and Madeline Kahn), So Long on Lonely Street, The News, Mixed Couples, Quick Change, Musical Chairs and Heartaches of a Pussycat. He also represented the Off-Broadway productions: Only Kidding and A Shayna Maidel, both at the Westside Theater.

Ben also worked as John Gielgud’s personal secretary when Mr. Gielgud directed Peter Shaffer’s Five Finger Exercise during the 1959-60 Broadway season.

Ben is survived by step-sons Nelson and Andrew.

He will be missed.
