In Memoriam: Barry Hoffman


It is with sadness ATPAM announces the death on July 25, of Retired Gold Card Manager Barry Hoffman in Paducah, Kentucky.  Brother Hoffman was 81-years-old and had been a member of ATPAM since 1966.

A multifaceted man of the theatre: actor, director, designer and technician – Barry was the Company Manager of the Broadway musical Frank Merriwell, which opened (and closed) on April 24, 1971 and was the General Manager of the 1969 Broadway revival of Three Men on a Horse

Among other jobs he held:  House Manager of the Concert Hall at The Kennedy Center, General Manager of the Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis and Executive Director of the Studio Arena Theare in Buffalo, NY.  Brother Hoffman also ran subscription campaigns for performing arts organizations and professional sports teams.

In his later years, he was the President of Silver Springs Stage and Producing Artistic Director fo the Potomac Theatre.

Brother Hoffman is survived by his wife Suzi, son David and a grandson. 

He will be missed.
