Patricia McLean Krawitz,
late of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, died in her home on February 7, 2002 of
natural causes.
A native of England and
raised in Ireland, Krawitz began her career in the entertainment industry
as a classically trained ballerina with the touring company of Ballet Jost.
She then emigrated to Toronto to dance for the Canadian Broadcasting
Company.
In the late 1950’s
Krawitz relocated to New York City to work with the famous impresario
Gilbert Miller. Her theatrical career as Press Agent spanned three decades
and with husband Seymour established one the best known and successful
Broadway pubberies. Among the hundreds of shows they repped were BELLE OF
AMHERST, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, OTHELLO, and MY FAIR LADY.
An active member of
ATPAM, she served on the Board of Governors for several years, helping to
set policies and to grow the Union. Upon her retirement to Doylestown,
Krawitz became active in local politics where she was a member of the
Bucks County Democratic Committee. She was also an active supporter of the
Font Hill Museum.
Mrs. Krawtiz is preceded
in death by her husband, Seymour. She is survived by her two children:
Ariana Krawitz of Doylestown and son Paul of Lake Harmony, Pa., and by her
brother Alan McLean of Rochester, England. Services are planned in
Ireland, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Doylestown
Hospice, 875 North Easton Road, Doylestown, PA 18901. |
