Press Agent member Lenny Traube, 83, passed away
Wednesday, December 3rd after a long illness. Traube was an ATPAM member
since 1944. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 12 (Traube's
birthday) at the Frank M. Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue
at 81st Street. The service will begin at 4 p.m.
Traube began his theatrical career on ANGEL STREET, as
the associate press agent to Dick Maney and produced by Traube's brother
Shepard. He also served as the press agent on TWO'S COMPANY, a musical
revue starring Bette Davis; the original production of THIS WAS
BURLESQUE starring Ann Corio and its revival, again with Miss Corio,
fifteen years later; FIFTH OF JULY starring Christopher Reeve and
MAURICE CHEVALIER IN AN EVENING OF SONGS AND IMPRESSIONS. Both Miss
Corio and Mr. Chevalier were long time personal clients of Traube's.
A proud union member, Traube was also proud to list
among his accomplishments his degrees from City College where he
received his BA and returned at age 70 to study law. He was also a
successful Golden Gloves boxer.
Survivors include Traube's wife Beverly Anderson, sons
Frederick and Michael and niece Victoria.
