March 13, 2003 In recent balloting members voted overwhelmingly to approve two amendments to the ATPAM Constitution and two amendments to the ATPAM By-laws. An amendment bringing ATPAMs Constitution into conformity with that of the IATSE regarding expulsion from membership for non-payment of fees and dues passed 222 to 18. Two thirds was required for approval. An amendment clarifying the language in the Constitution regarding special membership meetings was adopted by a vote of 215 to 27. Two thirds was required for approval. An amendment to the By-laws allowing the Board to consider special circumstances with regard to Members who have been members for less than one year having registered apprentices was approved by a vote of 216 to 25. A majority was required for approval. An amendment to the By-laws requiring members to pay a fine equal to 200% of the costs associated with collecting their delinquent fees and dues was passed by a vote of 219 to 22. A majority was required for approval. The total number of ballots received was 244. Two were ruled invalid by the election tellers who were Bob Reilly, Howard Rogut, Mark Schweppe, Dick Seader and Barbara Carroll. The amendments will become effective upon approval by the International President of the IATSE. |
